Restoring dignity through reading

A community trust in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is changing the lives of young people who are housed at a child and youth centre for the vulnerable. The Sibaya Community Trust recently handed over a new library worth R1.1 million to the Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre in Durban. The trust was established in 1998 with the intention of motivating social philanthropy in the province.

Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Centre to boost tourism

The South African National Parks (SANParks) is currently granting all visitors free entry to the Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre at Golden Gate Highlands National Park in Clarens, Free State, until 30 September.

SANParks described the Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre as a unique interactive facility with strong potential for tourism growth. “The attraction offers visitors an innovative, creative and quality demonstration of world-class scientific knowledge in the palaeontological, archaeological and geological disciplines,” said SANParks.

SAPS launches long-awaited e-Recruitment drive

The South African Police Service (SAPS) recently launched its much-anticipated e-Recruitment drive on its official website, offering 5 500 aspiring police officers the opportunity to join its ranks.

For the first time in the organisation’s history, SAPS is utilising an Electronic Recruitment System, through which youth from all walks of life can submit applications to be considered for entry-level Police Trainee posts.
