Tourism Month

Local and international tourists now have an opportunity to learn more about the ancient and unique culture of the Khomani San in the Northern Cape.

That is thanks to the newly launched Twee Rivieren Interpretative Centre project in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Located in the Kalahari, the park is known for its rich cultural and tourism offerings of the Kalahari Red Dune Route.

The youth of uMshwathi Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) are set to benefit from the Hub of Hope – a health and skills development programme for youngsters in Gcumisa and neighbouring communities in that municipality.

Deputy Health Minister, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, in August presided over the launch of the Hub of Hope.

The Soweto Marathon, also known as the ‘The People’s Race’ is back on track and set to take place on 5 November 2023.

After overcoming some hurdles that put the marathon in doubt, it is now all systems go for the event, with entries now open.

Mmola Desmond Kutullo (22) of Namakgale, near Phalaborwa, in Limpopo, is a beneficiary of this bursary.

Eight years ago, Tshidi Mokoma walked away from her job as a tax consultant to venture into the world of rabbit farming.

That leap of faith has paid off and today she is reaping the rewards. 

Her interest in breeding rabbits for their highly nutritious meat was sparked when her father was diagnosed with cancer while she was still in high school.
