Tsepho portable power brings light

A youth-led enterprise from Vrygrond in the Western Cape, has switched on lights, plugs and lives through its portable power stations solution.

 Fuelled by a desire to make an impactful change, three young entrepreneurs, Vincent Mosebe, who is the founder and CEO of Mosebe Enterprise (ME); Leandro Antonio, Marketing Director; and Donovan Pedzai, Chief Operations Officer, set out to revolutionise the energy sector.

Buying local to grow SA’s economy

Various sectors of society have once again committed to buying locally produced goods and services to help stimulate  economic growth and foster job creation in the country. 

This was shown during the 12th Buy Local Summit and Expo that was recently held by Proudly South African (Proudly SA) at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. 

It was attended by approximately 2000 delegates and 216 exhibitors from across the country. 
 

Conza’s Biscuits selling like hotcakes

What started off as a small family business meant to put food on the table for a mother and two daughters, is slowly growing to becoming a household name in the biscuit-making business.

The Soweto family-owned Conza’s Biscuits was established in 2004 by single mother Constance Chauke who started selling biscuits after she was unable to finance her daughter’s university education. At the time, it had been two years since her daughter completed high school.

Beware of human Trafficking

The South African Police Service has warned citizens to not fall prey to being human trafficked. 

Human trafficking is a criminal offence in terms of the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act, 7 of 2013. 

The offence involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, selling, exchange, lease, or receipt of another person within or across the borders of South Africa under false pretences and for exploitation purposes. 

Celebrating 30 Years of Democracy

South Africa's democracy has restored the dignity of millions of South Africans and changed the lives of its citizens for the better, said Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa.

Addressing the launch of national Freedom Month in celebrating 30 Years of Democracy, the Minister urged South Africans to acknowledge the remarkable progress made since the dawn of democracy in 1994 as the country commemorates this significant milestone.

With the fast-changing communication world that has resulted in the emergence of digital platforms, now surpassing the traditional communication platforms, Vuk’uzenzele newspaper is also joining this digital revolution and will no longer be available in hard copy.

For the past 19 years, the newspaper has been disseminating information that empowers the public to participate in government programmes, and it was available on hard copy and online.
